We invite you to be a part of our collaborative production of Arthur Miller's play, The Crucible, which will be performed on July 17, 18 & 19 and July 24, 25 & 26 at The Southern Theater (1420 Washington Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55454).
The Story: In 1692, in the Puritan community of Salem, Massachusetts, a group of young girls is discovered dancing in the woods at night. Soon after, several fall mysteriously ill. With no earthly explanation, the town turns to the supernatural.
Old grievances become accusations. Suspicion hardens into certainty. Neighbors testify against neighbors. Private sins are dragged into public view.
In this theocratic society—where court and church are one—the effort to root out evil becomes more destructive than the evil itself. When the crime is witchcraft and proof cannot be seen, accusation is enough. Everyone is vulnerable. No one is safe.
THE CRUCIBLE is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Dramatists Play Service. www.concordtheatricals.com
